Norwegian Phrases for Tourists

Planning a trip to Norway? You'll have no problem getting by in English. But perhaps you'd like to try out your Norwegian whilst you're on your travels. Ja, takk - Yes please

Nei, takk - No thank you

Jeg vil gjerne ha... - I would like to have...

Kan jeg få en kopp kaffe? - May I have a cup of coffee?

Hvor mye blir det? - How much does it come to?

Kan jeg bestille en taxi? - Can I order a taxi?

Vi vil gjerne kjøpe billetter - We would like to buy tickets

Hvor ligger slottet? - Where is the palace?

Ta første vei til venstre - Take the first road on the left

Andre vei til høyre - The second road on the right

Kan du si det en gang til? - Can you say that again?

Jeg forstår ikke - I don't understand

Kan du engelsk? - Do you know English?

 

Tog - Train

Flytoget - The airport train

Jernbanestasjon - Train station

T-bane - Metro

Buss - Bus

Trikk - Tram

Ferge - Ferry

Fortau - Pavement/Sidewalk

Gangfelt - Pedestrian crossing
